Never Two Late started about 3-4 years. We visited around some local marinas in Nottingham and outlying areas looking for a narrowboat. The sales manager from Castle Marina Nottignahm advised that it was best for us to go and have one built if we were able to do that. He suggested we go to look at Boughton camp near Ollerton because there are a couple of boat builders, so we popped down one afternoon. We came across X R & D, and after speaking to them for probably an hour or so, we were impressed. They were great guys, and they seemed passionate, so Steve booked a slot and paid the deposit before we left. I can’t remember exactly how long the waiting list was. Still, it was a while, so we were excited and our dream started becoming a reality whilst we were also there and looking at the boats that they were building when we met Andy Dence, who was the guy that fitted everything out. He does engine, electrics. You name it, everything inside apart from the steelwork. So we asked him also to fit our boat out because we had a look at his workmanship. It was just amazing, so fast forward, it was about a year, I think, and because we live so close, we could watch Never Two Late become a reality, so most weeks we used to pop over and have a look at the build started in 2020 I believe it was around June July time. Hence, we videoed most of it so that we had a record of it. You can see all this on our vlog. If you click on the picture, it will take you to our YouTube channel. So, we’re nearly at the end now, where we’ll be moving on at the end of February, and you’ll be able to see our journey as we become continuous cruisers.
